Privacy Policy

Introduction
BusAhead SG is a Singapore public transport app published by Codestian. This policy explains what information the app uses, what stays on your device, and what may be handled by third-party services such as advertising and in-app purchases.
BusAhead SG is an independent app and is not affiliated with the Land Transport Authority.
What we collect directly
We do not ask you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or mailing address through normal use of the app.
If you email us at support@codestian.com, we receive whatever you choose to send in that message.
Information stored on your device
The app stores some information locally on your phone or tablet so it can work offline and remember your preferences. This includes:
- Favourite stops, bus services, and MRT stations
- App settings such as theme and appearance
- Cached public transport data used by the app
- Your last known location, saved on the device to show nearby stops faster
This on-device information is not uploaded to Codestian servers for general app use.
Location
With your permission, BusAhead SG uses your device location to show nearby bus stops and arrival times. Location is used to provide app features, such as centreing the map and finding stops around you.
When the app requests bus arrival times, your device contacts LTA DataMall. Those requests are made to fetch public transport data, not to create a personal profile of you.
You can change location permission at any time in your device settings.
Live Activities on iOS
If you start a Live Activity on iPhone, the app sends limited technical information to our server so bus arrival updates can be pushed to your Lock Screen. This may include:
- The bus stop code you are following
- The bus services you selected, if any
- A push token and activity identifier used by Apple Push Notification service
- Basic app identifiers needed to deliver the notification
This information is used only to provide Live Activity updates. When the Live Activity ends, our server is notified to stop sending updates for that activity.
Advertising
The free version of BusAhead SG uses Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob may collect information automatically when you view or interact with ads, including:
- Device information, such as device model and operating system version
- Advertising identifiers and similar device IDs
- IP address and diagnostic information
- Approximate location, from GPS or inferred from IP address
AdMob may use this information to measure ads and show more relevant advertising. For more detail, see Google's Privacy Policy.
On iPhone, the app may ask for permission to track activity across other companies' apps and websites for personalised ads. You can allow or deny this in the iOS tracking prompt and in Settings.
If you purchase BusAhead SG Pro, ads are removed and AdMob is not shown in the app.
Purchases
BusAhead SG Pro is sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and purchase status is managed with RevenueCat so the app can unlock the ad-free Pro features on your device.
We do not receive your payment card details. Apple, Google, and RevenueCat may process purchase-related information according to their own privacy policies.
Open data and third-party services
BusAhead SG uses public and third-party data services to show routes, maps, and arrival times. These include:
- LTA DataMall for real-time bus arrivals and traffic incidents
- BusRouter SG for bus route data
- data.gov.sg for MRT track lines and station exits
- OpenStreetMap data via Protomaps for map tiles
When your device requests data from these services, it may send standard technical information such as your IP address as part of the network request. We do not control how those providers handle that information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes take effect when the updated policy is posted on this page. Please review this page periodically for updates.
